Goal #65: Have a Color Me Mine sesh

DZP goals for my birthday = Awesome gifts!

This is Yvette. She is Danny's cousin, but most of all she is my friend, my family. This year she too offered to help me cross off one of my DZP goals from my lovely list! I rambled off a few choices and voila, Color Me Mine sesh for two!

How could I not choose something symbolic of my birthday? A peacock studded cupcake to hold my jewelry. I'm so excited to use it everyday.

And since Yvette is currently blissfully in love, it was no surprise when she made this adorable Valentines inspired piece.

I WANT THIS WATCH!

Tell me this watch isn't cute.  I dare you.  Yea, can't do it huh?  I absolutely love this watch.  The color combination, gold/white/navy, totally works.  It's classy, yet casual.  I don't even mind the gold.  Boy don't I wish my birthday was moments away... it would be the perfect excuse to request this right now.

DIY: String Bracelets

Queen of DIY Martha Stewart lends this project for using up leftover string from crafts projects to make textured bracelets.  I on the other hand am thinking I'd like to buy string to use up my leftover bangles.  Back in the day I used to go out dancing and purchased quite a few colorful bangles that I soon realized I'd probably never wear again, until now. 

These look much more adult, a lot less plastic and club-like.  This is officially on my to-do list.

Tiny Trinkets

Yet another Etsy shop with some adorable merchandise.  Love Erica has some very delicate necklaces with the most unique, tiny charms for your wearing pleasure.  Yes, some of her necklaces have the usual hearts and lockets - but the adorable carousel, teddy, tea cup and sparrow are truly exceptional.  After my last Etsy buy, I'm starting to really consider going the jewelry route for my next one! 

Make Peace

I'm making peace with the fact that I will be adoring these earrings from afar, for they are far out of my price range.  But the look in this model's eyes, with these exquisite bronze earrings framing her face, stopped me in my tracks and I had to share...

Falling Whistles

Falling Whistles is a campaign for peace in Congo.  I came across it a few weeks ago, and was reminded of it this weekend when I saw an old friend wearing one around his neck.  The Falling Whistles campaign launched after a journal entry was written about boys sent to the frontlines of war armed with only a whistle, and their response - make their weapon your voice and be a whistleblower for peace in Congo.  Proceeds go to rehabilitate and advocate for war-affected children. Share their story and speak up for them.

Being that I am a lover of ceramics (and can't wait to find a class, so I can cross that off my DZP list) I thought I should definitely share Stephanie Kao's style with you.  Her Etsy shop is full of some very well designed ceramics that are made to order.  Here are some of her green-color-schemed ceramics, in light of the holiday.

My First Blue Box

My man did not come home from his weekend trip empty handed.  Instead he came home toting a distinct blue bag, with a matching blue box inside... and this would be my first ever blue box.  I opened it to find a classic charmed Tiffany & Co. bracelet! Fits like a glove.

I've Always Wanted...

... a pocket watch. But the ordinary ones always seemed so bulky and masculine. Now I've found a sweet and feminine antique pocket watch from oh hello friend. And amazingly I'm now longing for this adorable paparazzi camera ring with amazing detail. The entire shop has some awesome jewelry pieces that are well worth the look.

Chantelle Nicole Designs has some seriously sweet sterling silver and copper jewelry. Being that all the pieces are completely customizable, its no wonder why the Etsy shop is named One of a Kind Jewelry.
What I love about the charm above - besides the 2 hearts stringed together - is the hand-stamped charm above that can be customized up to 31 characters for some names, words, even dates of your choice. This copper necklace has such a great unique feel. The antique copper locket and aged leaf charm are earthy and delicate. It makes me feel like something that could have been passed down through generations.

My Favorite Bow Rings

I love eccentric rings... but sometimes I see things I like and they're waayyy too big for my taste. Check these dainty little bow rings out!! I love love love them. This is going on my birthday wish list - and best of all, they're only $12.00!

Candle Stick Turned Jewelry Rack

I like this idea of using a multi-candle stick holder as your jewelry rack. It wouldn't have to be an exceptional piece, just functional. What do you think?

Etsy shop Beads in the Belfry has these simplistic handmade initial necklaces made from sterling silver. You can pick any letter in the alphabet in this funky modern font, as well as have it personalized with a name hand stamped on the back. Now, if your name is more than 7 letters long - go with a nickname, because that's the limit on these babies.
I agree 100% with the listing, these are feminine and flirty without being too girly. Order yours here.
