Meditation

Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.
- Rumi

"How do you find peace in your heart when you are angry?  How do you find peace in your heart when you hold on to resentments?
"You don't.  No matter how often you meditate, take a walk, or take time to smell the flowers, an angry or resentful heart remains closed.  Love and peace are locked out and only suffering remains.
"So then the obvious question is, How can we let go of anger and resentment when we feel justified in being hurt or disappointed?  How can we let go when all we want is revenge - when we want to hurt back?
"It is not easy, but it is possible.  We can pray for the willingness to let go.  And if we aren't ready for this, we can pray for the willingness to be willing to let go.  Just the slightest amount of willingness serves as a key to unlock a small door in our heart, and that opening will begin to stretch as our willingness grows.
"And soon you will find the gift of peace in your heart, even when you're angry and resentful.  It is God's precious gift to you in return for your willingness.
"Today I will pray for the willingness to open my heart and let go of all the anger and resentments that have been keeping me stuck.  Today I know that they only hurt me and keep me from feeling peaceful."
