Goal #43: Be in two places at once & Goal #97: Treat someone to Champagne Brunch

Both of these goals were completed quite a long time ago. And sadly I'm very late to blogging their completion. So instead of retelling the stories, today I'm bringing you the originals, blogged by my DZP partners in crime:

Goal #43: Be in two places at once, brought to you by Alex Jeanette
She also probably doesn't realize, that she blogged about this beauty twice.
Yep little sis, see it for yourself: here and here

Goal #97: Treat someone to Champagne Brunch, brought to you by Madalyn Marie
You can find the details of this fun birthday day, here.

Goal #42: Assemble a first aid bag to keep in my car

Accidents and emergencies can happen anywhere and at any given time. Therefore a first aid kit is kind of an important thing to have in your car. And the best part is, they're not expensive to keep up!

Target has these ready-made medibags for $13 and they come equipped with:

(12) Assorted Kid-Friendly bandages
(12) Junior bandages
(12) 3/4" X 3" Sheer bandages
(20) Antiseptic Wipes (sting-free)
(6) 2 X 2 Gauze Pads
(6) 3 X 3 Gauze Pads
(2) Knee and Elbow bandages
(1) Anti-Itch Ointment
(2) Antibiotic Ointments
(1) Burn Gel
(2) Hand Sanitizer packs
(1) Instant Cold Pack
(2) Blue Kid-Friendly Exam Gloves
(2) Fingertip bandages
(1) Plastic Disposable Tweezers
(10) Application Swabs
(1) Sting Relief Pad
(1) Emergency Information Label
(20) Kid-Friendly Fun Stickers
(1) First Aid Guide
(1) Kid-Friendly Organized Doctor's Bag

That's a lot! Then I added some pain reliever, antacids, eye drops (since I wear contacts), and some pain relieving ointment.. as well as some feminine products that I'm sure will come in handy.

ALL OF WHICH, is kept in the most adorable old-school-doctor bag! What's not to love?

Goal #9: Make an at-home face mask for a sister date

When my sister and I decide to hang out for a morning, afternoon, evening or entire day... we call them Sister Dates. Basically that means, its me and her, 100% attention and focus is on each other and our sisterly love. It doesn't really matter what we do, just as long as we're together. It's dates like these that I truly believe have kept our friendship so close and connected.

For this sister date, I wanted to do some fun at-home masks. You always read articles about using items in your own pantry for beauty treatments: avocado, eggs, cucumbers, olive oil, lemon, etc. But who knew honey was such a beauty resource? When searching for "great at-home face masks," I was shocked by how many posts and reviews I read that include one, single ingredient - HONEY.

And as you can see, I had JUST enough for two face masks for my sister and I.

BEFORE: honey is ON!

AFTER: beauty with attiTUDE.

Goal #41: Participate in a Color Run

The Color Run: The Happiest 5K on the Planet... ummm, yes. I concur.

The Team: "Colour Me Fancy"... myself, Shanna, AlexShannonMadalyn, and our token boy, David... all dressed for the occasion, WHITE TUTUS!

The Race: San Diego, CA, November 3rd, bright and early!

The Recap: Words can't describe how incredibly fun this race was. We all had such a blast that some of us have already signed up for the Irvine race next year! If you haven't done it, it is a MUST DO!

Goal #46: Go apple picking

Why apple picking, you ask? Firstly, do you see this photo here? This view is exactly what I was hoping to experience when completing this goal.. isn't it so pretty? Ya, I know *dust ya shoulda off*

This list is all about doing things you maybe wouldn't normally think of, wouldn't normally take the opportunity or time to complete, things that open your eyes to the world around you. Apple picking is probably the perfect example of all of that put together. Living in Orange County, I remember seeing groves of orange trees and large strawberry fields in my community. I used to think how cool it would be to pick my own fruit (I obviously wasn't interested in growing anything, just picking the end results!). So when a friend told me she was going, I thought, Oh! Why not? And that's how it ended up on this list, and now on this blog as happily completed.

What made goal even more fun to complete, was the friend I had there to complete it with! Let me introduce you to Amanda....

Amanda is my coworker at my latest, and absolutely greatest job (will share in a separate post soon). She's a super fun and energetic person that I freakin' love! I couldn't be more blessed to know her and continue to get to know her every week. And, you will all be happy to hear that she's going to be starting a DZP list! It should be no surprise, it's kind of contagious.

So everyone, this is Amanda, say hi and be nice. I have a feeling you'll be seeing a lot of her...

Goal #47: Have a water balloon fight

This fun one was completed in July for Madalyn's birthday. JULY! Sorry if you just spit your morning coffee all over your screen wondering how in the world I've waited 4 months to blog this baby. I know, it's just down right shameful. To my benefit I was delaying this blog post because we planned to have a video to share of this epic battle, but since that is still in progress I just had to get this out here!
At first as we were setting up, it was every man for themselves. Then the shit talking started and suddenly we were split into teams.. boys vs. girls. We, were, ruthless-buahahaha-ok, not ruthless! But we definitely gave those boys a run for their money. With more than a hundred balloons, lots of water guns and a few hoses - every single one of us were drenched from head to toe with mascara running, girlish giggles in every direction and massive smiles plastered on our faces. This battle was so much fun! I suggest any grown group of friends to do this at least once.

Here are a few post-battle-photos that I absolutely LOVE...

Goal #30: Go to the midnight premiere of a movie

Woot! Woot! Alex, Shannon and I all crossed this puppy off our lists with the midnight premiere of... Breaking Dawn 2! Yes, yes... for those of you who don't know yet, I am, in fact, a Twilight fan. All judgement aside, these movies are great movies, period. And this last one was EPIC. I honestly loved it and was so happy I held out for this movie for my goal. It was so stupid-good!

The action from right to left:
We have all arrived! Shannon first, Alex second with blankets and warm gear, myself last bearing gifts of Chipotle (and seriously worried I was going to get mauled by Twilight fans over yummy goodness). Thankfully no one jumped me for my veggie bowl!
Then it started to (california)rain and we were not happy (Alex especially).
Moments later we were whisked into the theatre, snagged some seriously awesome seats and waiting patiently-and awake! thanks to some Starby's double shot cans-for our movie to begin!
Post-Flick Photo! Seriously happy over how the movie turned out, lets watch it again!

Goal #24: Visit an art museum

As we're walking through Olvera St. completing one DZP goal, I walk across the center and spy this Pico House that just so happened to be hosting a Dia de los Muertos art collection. So of course I jumped to the chance to hit this DZP goal up and Visit an Art Museum. Well, after our 55oz Coronitas, my sister and her fiancé decided their goal was to stop me from completing this one. Why? No reason. Just for shits and giggles.
Giggles is right. This is my sista and I, laughing our asses off in the middle of the street as she's attempting to stop me from walking through the door. Just looking at these photos can put me straight into hysterical laughter!! This is why I love these two.

No photos allowed. But in the name of DZP, you do what you gotta do.

Goal #15: Take a cake decorating class

At my last birthday, in oh... February. Madalyn gave me a certificate for a cake decorating class. Perfect DZP gift from my BeeEff! Well, then our class got cancelled and I almost wasn't sure this goal was going to be completed, but then Duff's Cakemix happened and all was well in my DZP world.

It was... awesome! Not only was it reasonably priced, but the staff was friendly, everything was well organized and stocked with all the go-to tools for awesome cake decorating.

We had a blast. My fave creation was my L&C ode to the blog I love so much!

If you're ever thinking of trying something new or want an awesome gift for a friend, I highly suggest this place.

Goal #89: Pay for someone in the drive through behind me

Photo credits: Alex took the fabulous drive through photo, I snapped the photo of the receipt, and Madalyn used her mad-design-skillz and made it look amazing. And for all of you photo police out there, I did make sure I had full and complete permission from MMW to use her fabulous photo documentation, she obviously approved.

This fabulous goal was completed quite a bit ago. Half of me wants to kick my own ass for being a slacker at documenting these awesome adventures. But the other half loves reminiscing about how the adventure came to fruition.

This was yet another goal that Madalyn and I both shared on our lists, and one Sunday morning as we set off for a different DZP adventure with Alex, we all decided Starby's was a must-do before said-adventure could begin. Next came the decision as to which location to go to. And that's when it happened... LET'S GO TO THE DRIVE-THRU AND CROSS THIS OFF OUR LISTS TOO, TOO! Boom! Voila! Bazinga! and whatever bam-boom-voila-word you prefer!

So, very excitedly we ordered our drinks... went to the window and in the cheeriest voices prompted the cashier that we'd like to pay for the person behind us. Without hesitation he ran our cards, handed us our receipt and as we slowly exited the lane, our entire car was peeking back to see the woman behind us receive her free Caramel Macchiato.

Have you ever done this? Did you look to see the reaction or just go on your merry way? I know it's better to do such gestures without anything in return, including recognition and such... But I don't think we were looking for recognition. We were just so excited to see her face brighten up! I'd love to hear your stories of nice gestures. Do share.

Goal #52: Visit the Fullerton Arboretum

It's pretty sad how many amazing spaces and places surrounds us in this great country, and yet we can sometimes completely overlook them. When it comes to the Fullerton Arboretum, that is exactly what happened to me. I went to Fullerton College and CSUF, and I never knew that this little gem was walking distance from my classes. So of course, if I never visited the Arboretum while studying on the very campus it resides, I had to put it on my list to make certain I would actually go.

During a sister-date where Alex and I spent the day shopping for future centerpieces and selecting the perfect flowers to fill them with, we decided we would finish off the day with a visit to the Arboretum. Which wasn't completely selfish of me considering it is the location of my sister's future wedding!

Awesomely enough, a wedding was already set up and only hours away from taking place at the very same spot she has reserved for her big day! I snapped this little gem in complete excitement at what we have to look forward come July 2013.

The only bummer about visiting after a day of shopping around, was that neither of us were dressed for the occasion. I will not lie, I expected a lot, lot more grass and less dirt trails. So tennis shoes would have been much more appropriate than my sandals. All this means is, next time - very soon, next time - I will be much more prepared and even more willing to venture around the land that is the Fullerton Arboretum.

Goal #63: Visit a lighthouse with my mom

If there's one thing you should know about my mom. It's that she loves, loves, loves, loves, lighthouses!

LOVES!

So when planning my DZP list, I decided this would be a sweet goal to complete. The best part of it all, was that my sister made sure to have it on her list too! - Or maybe she had it first, and I added it... I don't remember!

So for Mother's Day, my sister and I made a cute photo book listing all the reasons why we love her (see my favorite below).
Well, after some many planning, rescheduling, and delaying of this blessed event... we finally made it happen! We went to Long Beach and visited Long Beach Harbor Lighthouse and walked throughout Shoreline Village. We took a water taxi around the harbor and got to see the Queen Mary up close and personal. It was pretty damn fun hanging out with my fam.

So, readers, this is my mom.. Carol.
Momma, these are my readers.

Have you guys met before? Really, are you sure?
She has a familiar face. It could be just that.

Beautiful, isn't she!

Goal #22: Have a doggie date with Rufus and Lulu

Madalyn and I are best friends, so why wouldn't our doggies, Rufus and Lulu, right? Ha!

First, introductions for those of you who don't know yet: to the left is Lulu, Madalyn's primped-girly-girl-yorkie... and to the right is Rufus, my bearded-boys-boy-miniature schnauzer

Rufus was all about getting to know Lulu, if you know what I mean. And who can really blame him? Lulu is one hot mama. Which is why she would totally be robbing the cradle if she ever gave into Rufus' incessant attempts to get her on her back. I mean all fours..? Hey, I'm not up with the doggie-do-ways, so the back reference will make sense in a bit. Just keep following me down the rabbit hole...

Location: softball field at a local park, where Mama Madalyn was playing slow pitch softball (another DZP goal on her list), so her boy and I made some fair attempts to get these two acquainted.

As you can see by this photo documentation, fair may be just the nicest word I've got for this kind of behavior.

But thankfully this story does get a happy ending...

After quite a bit of Rufus trying to convince Lulu he was a stand-up-pup, and getting his paw slapped away a few hundred times, Lulu finally gave Rufus the time of day. They successfully were able to chase each other around in some decent sized circles, at quite a top speed. Madalyn and I were left to find our own balance after being spun around so many times, we were literally holding on to each other's sides as to not completely fall over.

Once the field stopped spinning, Lulu was on her back (time! in a 'hey wanna pet my tummy' kind of way, you sickos) with a big smile on her face! So maybe Rufus has a chance after all.

Doggie date #2 will tell. To be continued...

Goal #7: Kiss in the rain

{via}

It looked nothing like this. Not that I'm complaining, oh nooo I am not complaining. This is how it went down...

Walking down the Vegas strip in the middle of too many people, all looking for the next bar to cool off at, drink until our hearts content and then off to the next watering hole. Suddenly there is a flash of lightening in the distance, followed by a very, very welcoming freshness in the air that brings an instant relief from the sweltering heat wave we've been enduring all day. And now, it's sprinkling.

Wait, is it sprinkling or did someone just spit on me? No, it's definitely sprinkling.

Oh my goodness, if this rain starts coming down I am so crossing this fucking goal off my list! Wait for it. Wait for it. Great, now I can't even feel the sprinkles. Dammit!! I really thought I was going to be able to do this finally.

WAIT, it's back! There's more! There's definitely MORE. D where are you?? Ok kiss me! Kiss me, right now. This is on my DZP list. Yes, I'm serious. *smooch* *smooch*

We're just about to rush into the next smoke-filled casino, gag, and now it's coming doowwwn.

STOP!

*mini make out sesh*

Okay, I did it. Phew, I did it. That was awesome. Let's do it again. Oh, no more rain. All well.

So where are we going next...
