Goal #41: Participate in a Color Run

The Color Run: The Happiest 5K on the Planet... ummm, yes. I concur. 

The Team: "Colour Me Fancy"... myself, Shanna, Alex, Shannon, Madalyn, and our token boy, David... all dressed for the occasion, WHITE TUTUS!

The Race: San Diego, CA, November 3rd, bright and early!

The Recap: Words can't describe how incredibly fun this race was. We all had such a blast that some of us have already signed up for the Irvine race next year! If you haven't done it, it is a MUST DO!

Goal #63: Visit a lighthouse with my mom

If there's one thing you should know about my mom. It's that she loves, loves, loves, loves, lighthouses! 

LOVES!

So when planning my DZP list, I decided this would be a sweet goal to complete. The best part of it all, was that my sister made sure to have it on her list too! - Or maybe she had it first, and I added it... I don't remember!

So for Mother's Day, my sister and I made a cute photo book listing all the reasons why we love her (see my favorite below).

Well, after some many planning, rescheduling, and delaying of this blessed event... we finally made it happen! We went to Long Beach and visited Long Beach Harbor Lighthouse and walked throughout Shoreline Village. We took a water taxi around the harbor and got to see the Queen Mary up close and personal. It was pretty damn fun hanging out with my fam. 

So, readers, this is my mom.. Carol.

Goal #2: See a drive-in movie

Holy late post, blurry family photos and unflattering pictures! Real or not real? Real!

*of course my sis always looks adorbs*

But for real! Crossed this baby off back in April-ish when 21 Jump Street was making it's way out of the big screen.

This was so much fun! I seriously want to make drive-in movies apart of my go-to weekend plans, especially now that I have the convertible.

My Weekend Movies at a Glance

Instead of watching the Super Bowl this year (I know, a total sin) my man and I watched some movies while eating my yummy M&E's Guacamole. Here's a rundown...

Law Abiding Citizen, with the amazing Gerard Butler. I really really liked this movie. It had a different twist from the regular cops and bad guy murderer type of movies. There was intellect and it definitely received 2 thumbs up from me.Zombieland, a movie I never thought I'd actually watch - but when I did I was genuinely laughing throughout the movie. The nasty zombies definitely had me covering my eyes to stop me from gagging but overall - a pretty decent movie.Whip it, definitely have been waiting to see this one for a while now. I'm a 100% fan of Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page - and together I think they made a great movie. I think I might buy it.

A pretty eventful weekend actually - and I'm sad that I did not have my camera to take tons of pictures. What was I thinking?! I know.

Friday - Sushi Date with my man & good friends Toni & Rich!
If you know me, you know sushi and I do not get along. Well that was mostly true Friday.. Toni & Rich are sushi experts, and that's an understatement. I definitely ventured out of my comfort zone, but not too far. I enjoyed a Tornado Roll, Crunchy Roll, a bit of a roll with eel! *yikes* To my surprise, it wasn't half bad... and tons of edamame. To be honest, I was nibbling nervously on those suckers, as well as downing my light-Japanese beer, anticipating the next crazy thing about to roll out on a plate.

Saturday - Orange County Swap Meet & BBQ with friends!
It was such a beautiful day that we had to get out and do something. So we ventured to the OC Swap Meet, met up with some friends and then headed over to their casita for some BBQ. We enjoyed the different kinds of meat, drinks, and games - poker with dice! Way more fun than poker with cards if I do say so myself. A fun night for sure!

Sunday - Laker-Boston game, Movies at home and the Grammys!
Thank goodness Lakers beat Boston - or the whole day would have been in ruins. I wish the Lakers would have upped their game for longer than the 1st quarter, but hey - a wins a win! Then our movie rundown: Gamer with cutie Gerard Butler and The Invention of Lying with hilarious Ricky Gervais. Decent movies, not too much wow factor, but good enough. Then of course, the Grammys. All I have to say is: Yaayyy to Beyonce, Pink and the Zac Brown Band... and Eww Eww Eww to Jamie Foxx and all the other boat load of lip-syncing crazies he was with.

My Weekend at a Glance

Cinema love this weekend. Finally caught up on some blockbuster movies...
The Hangover - very funny. Which was a surprise considering that I heard very mixed reviews about it. Fat Jesus had me rolling in laughter.
Public Enemies - with a very sexy Johnny Depp. Actually didn't finish it completely. It was the last movie of the night and I ended up falling asleep. It was a smidge slow, but with all the tommy guns and sexy looks of Johnny, I'd probably watch it again to see the ending.

The Perfect Getaway - my man will probably be mad to find out I watched this one without him on Saturday. Especially when he finds out this one was sooo good. This mysterious, thriller keeps you wondering all the way through. You think you know who's doing the killing and then BAM! Big twist!

Bones, Season 2 - Oh yes! I am a Bones fan, more like a David Boreanaz fan. Got through 3 discs.

My Weekend at a Glance

I have to say, this weekend was long and quite eventful. I had to pull myself out of bed this morning - my head was saying Get Up! Get Up! - and my body was screaming Nooooooo!! Needless to say, I got up. What you ask put my body in a coma? Let's see...
Friday night, my man and I went to my company Christmas party for Johnson Gray at the Tommy Bahama Island Grille. I must say, it was quite the fun adventure. The food was amazing - absolutely superb. The drinks were great - Tommy Bahama Rum and Diet Cokes were flowing for me. But the company made the night! I think there was constant laughter fluttering throughout - my abs definitely got a work out!!

Saturday my family got together for my adorable twin niece's 1st birthday. It did rain down on us, and my poor brother-in-law ended up BBQing in the rain. Now that, is the definition of taking one for the team. Well, these adorable little 1-year-olds enjoyed their cake, as you can see... and we had a good time laughing it up with these giggle-monsters.

Then believe it or not, late that evening I made my way to San Manuel Casino with my man and another couple where I enjoyed a few hours of some intense people-watching! Wow! I didn't gamble, but I was completely entertained.
My man and I finished off the weekend with Christmas shopping... and we literally shopped till we dropped. 7 hours of Christmas shopping was wayy too much for even me! To be honest, he was the one pushing me to get everything done, what a trooper.

My Weekend at a Glance

My somewhat eventful weekend kicked off with the Lakers beating the Heat with 2 amazing clutch shots - 1 by Derek Fisher who is notorious for sinking in clutch 3 pointers throughout his career, and to even my surprise Kobe landed the winning point shot. And no, I'm not a Kobe hater - I am simply a fan who is willing to admit that there are times Kobe can make some not-so-smart plays. This game, I'm happy it worked out!

Saturday my friend Shans and I woke up extra extra early and stood in line at the Spectrum Forever21's Grand Opening Event. The first 400 people in line received free gift cards ranging from $10 - $210. I have to say, the waiting was not bad - especially since I was in good company. But the selection I was disappointed. I was hoping to see their new line Tres Paris, but it was no where to be seen. All in all, I would do it again.

In our time of waiting, we did download the new app White Christmas that I blogged about over at Johnson Gray.

I must admit, I like it a lot.

The weekend ended with a nice holiday dinner with a couple of friends. Good food. Good wine. Good Weekend.

Holiday Weekend at a Glance

This holiday weekend went by so fast! It's true when they say time flies when you're having fun. My weekend at a glance is as follows:

1. Turkey dinner with my immediate family - including my newly relocated-close-to-home sister Candice, her hubby and their twin baby girls (so cute), and my boyfriend made an appearance this year - which was what I was most thankful for that evening. That, and of course my sister's homemade pumpkin pie.

2. Julie & Julia - I finally rented this baby and forced Danny to watch it with me (haha). I have to admit that I thought there was gonna be a lot more wow factor to this, but at the same time I liked it. I love trying new things, especially recipes, and could totally see me doing something like this during my first years of marriage and home cooking.
3. Johnson Valley - As a last minute decision, Danny and I found ourselves trekking down to Johnson Valley (somewhere close to Big Bear) for some dirt bike riding, quarter playing, freezing our butts off evening. Yep! The weather was not on our side, and therefore I spent most of the night shivering in the truck. The first thing I did when I got home was take a smoking hot shower to thaw out my limbs.

4. Laker game - Although we missed the huge blowout on Saturday night (Lakers kicking some major Goldenstate ass with a 33 point win), we did however enjoy Sunday night's game against the Nets. As you can see, they are kicking ass and taking names. I hope they continue playing this good... fingers crossed.
