Shot Heard 'Round the World: Mêlée

Before I begin, I just want to say - I love the logo.  It's so hippie-esq.
I love the name - Mêlée, it's French for brawl, disorganized close combat.
Now known for being a chart climbing band that is rocking the world one song at a time.
Now for the story...

This local band went from attending Orange County's Villa Park HS, hanging out at Disneyland with their season passes in hand, to performing all over the world!  Talk about achieving your dreams!  And this is no one-hit-wonder, with songs climbing the charts they are unstoppable at this point.  Not only do they have a big fan base here in the states, they are HUGE - more like GINORMOUS - in Japan right now!

And how do I know all of this pertinent information you might ask.  My girlie Shans hung out with them during her high school years when she witnessed the birth of this local-grown band turn into a world-wide sensation. Occasionally we listen to their album in the office and she's told me all about their story - and this week she informed me that right now they are the iTunes Free Single of the Week!  So of course, I had to share with all of you...

This is not the free single, but it is one of their latest and greatest that I'm really liking right now:

Is it bad that while watching the intro of Letters to Juliet, I was more interested in this song rather than the movie?  I literally restarted the movie, turned it up a few notches and shazamed it!

Oh, and this is definitely a Movie Must-See rental with the girls.  I'm not sure which part I liked the most: enjoying the scenic routes throughout Italy, drooling over the many accents or getting caught up in the usual romantic story line.

I wanted to share this song with you when it aired on OTH but I couldn't find any videos for you.  Then I checked again today and it seems another WakeyWakey fan uploaded it herself.  These guys make some great music.

My man has been singing this song for month's now... and for the longest time the only line I even knew was I wanna be a millionaire sooo freaking baaad... and then nearly a whole month later I finally heard it!  Now as of about a month ago, it's finally out on all the radio stations and officially stuck in my head all day long

Wakey! Wakey!

Guess what? I am a fan of One Tree Hill - yes it is true. Last night's episode featured a song "Brooklyn," by Wakey! Wakey! - who's lead singer Michael Grubbs happens to play a bar tender named "Grubbs," who has a special talent for knowing exactly what you want to drink. Anyways, he rocked both the mic and the piano with this song that has sent me into music love.
