LEGOs With an Edge

Check out these ads for Pilot's Extra-Fine tipped pens featuring LEGO figures with tattoo makeovers.  The ads were designed by the Barcelona-based Grey Agency, and they are insanely creative and fun to stare at.  My all time favorites have to be the pirate and the tramp stamp - although I don't know what's worse: the tramp stamp or the thong...

Thanks Shannybear for sharing this with me.  Yet another reason why you should start a blog of all your sharable finds!

Extreme Advertising

This is no joke... That man peeking out of the building is Christian Peterson, owner of the bike shop that set up this extreme display of advertising to draw attention to his store.  Only in Germany right? Seen here.

Talk About Branding

I love the new branding going on with the girl scouts.  I'm in the process of creating my own branding package and this is definitely inspiring to say the least.

Starbucks is Doing it however-you-want-it

*Yes those are my cute legs below the cling
Starbucks came out with a new frappuccino promotion this week, the NEW however-you-want-it frappuccino, and I must say I'm loving the collateral materials they've designed to support it!  The window cling absolutely makes me want one, even at this very moment, and the large poster displays designed to show someone's special frappuccino recipes are very fun and playful.
I especially love that they've gotten the employees involved with their frap of the week, as well as a fun (yet temporary) frappucinno Happy Hour from 3 - 5 p.m. starting today!  Go check it out and start creating some fabulous frappucinnos.

Starved for Attention

You might recall a recent post of the Milkawhat Super Bowl commercial, or seen it on TV and in recent news.  If you're not aware, here's a reminder:

If you haven't heard yet, Lindsay Lohan is making a pretty big spectacle of this, and herself.  She seems to have made a connection between milkaholic baby Lindsay and herself.  The fact that the baby doesn't even have red hair, freckles, or any other resemblance to her besides her name is more than enough argument to affirm she's crazy and starved for attention.  C'mon now Lindsay, don't sue the baby just because you're not the only Lindsay on the tube anymore.

Help Flo!

Flo is my absolute favorite spokesperson for any product at the moment.  She's her own character, she's not some actor that's being thrown into a new product that's supposed to assume a new identity.  She's all her own, quirky, cute and hilarious.  I've always wanted to meet her, and well, now I can...
... that is if I wanted to Help Flo.  Progressive is starting a new contest to Help Flo out in an advertising spot.  You can post videos online, or you can go to any of the live events where Flo will be present - like the one going on in L.A. this Thursday and Friday.
To find out more details visit the contest website.  Can't wait to see who the new face will be!

How many FLAVORS do you have?

My friend Amy introduced me to this website called Flavors.me which allows anyone to create a go to  website that contains all of their personal pages from all over the internet.  I finally decided to set up my page which includes my blog, Twitter and Linkedin accounts, as well as the Johnson Gray blog for which I write for.  It is an easy and simple way for people to access all of your pages at once.

Stamp Yo Face

Just found this Etsy shop lilimandril that has the cutest face stamps that you can purchase of one of her named personalities, or of....drum roll please.... yourself!!  No joke.  True Story.
What she does is after you decide to purchase one > you send her a picture of yourself > she creates an illustration > once you approve it > she creates the stamp > once you approve its outcome > she sends it to you in an adorably designed package.
I absolutely love the idea that you could totally use this to advertise yourself, if you were in the position to do so.  So, if you have a little business or in an industry that relies on you  representing yourself - consider this, because I know I am.  Orrrr a nice stamp of you and your hubby would be adorable to use on wedding correspondence, holiday cards, etc.
By all means, I can see myself buying one like this:
Take it a step further and let everyone know who you support:
Check out her flickr account to see some more great examples... and did I mention these are only $20.00?  Well, now I did!

Great Stunt!

Clearly Mr. Seacrest had to be aware that this little shindig was about to go down. These things are planned, so I do not believe him and his mother ate at this restaurant and it all just happened. Not to mention the fact that he has a contract with Scope, and that further affirms my feelings about this super fun video...

ABC Brands

As you know I am a fan of brands and logos, so I am sharing with you this brand new shop that just opened up, The Best Part Shop, and their 1st poster available is this ABC's of Branding poster. This poster has no ink whatsoever, it is entirely created with a foil stamping and embossing process to compose an alphabet of letters from many of the more famous (and some infamous) logos of all time.

Chipotle Packaging

As you may remember when this blog was born I professed my love for Chipotle. Well Lovely Package has shared these new packaging designs done by design agency Sequence. They created a new design using some unique, hand-drawn messages from customers, employees and even ingredients. This new "lighthearted, passionate approach is the perfect vehicle to convey Chipotle’s ‘un-chain’ philosophy.”
Me likey.

Horror Fest Invitation

These pillows were sent out as an invitation to the Swedish Horror Film Festival. The tag reads on one side, "ELMSTA 3000 HORROR FEST," and the flip side reads, "12:00 7/11 2009 DON'T BE LATE." I know a handful of people who could use one of these throughout the year.

Logos, Pathos, Ethos

Logo design is complex, not easy in the least. But what I love about these is how they all combine 2 or more concepts and create 1 seamless design. Some are a little more obvious than others, but all are equally impressive.
